A Comparative Evaluation of Salivary Alkaline Phosphatase Level in Pre-Menopausal And Post-Menopausal Women With And Without Periodontitis. A Biochemical Study.

Introduction- Alkaline phosphatase is an intracellular destruction enzyme in the periodontium, and it takes part normal turnover of periodontal ligament, alveolar bone, root cementum formation maintenance.
 Aim- The aim this case control study was to evaluate Phosphatase (ALP) level saliva post menopausal women with without chronic periodontitis.
 Materials Methods- This includes 48 samples pre females. All subjects were selected from Department Periodontology, Peoples College Dental Science Research Centre, Bhopal. participants divided into 4 groups, Group A: 12 pre- periodontitis systemically healthy, B : post-menopausal C: D: post- healthy. Clinical parameters assessed Plaque Index (PI), Gingival (GI), Attachment Level (CAL) Probing Pocket Depth (PPD). Unstimulated salivary obtained which ALP concentration measured using p-Nitrophenylphosphate, 2-amino-2-methyl-1-propanol reagents Beckman Coulter, AU 480 auto analyser. Mann-Whitney U test used find statistical difference respect all clinical such as PI, GI, CAL, PPD levels.
 Result – result present showed considerably higher levels compared other groups.
 Conclusion -The suggest that presence not simply a reflection local inflammatory state females but their estrogen may possibly influence bone periodontitis.
